Rain Creek Ranch is a family owned and operated ranch which makes for a great place to hang out with friends and family. Whether you come for a trophy of a lifetime or come to enjoy the scenery, Rain Creek Ranch is a great place to get away from everything and relax. Internet access is available to all guests. ​We have a family of professionals at the ranch that have experience with guns, bows, hunting, animals, lodging and cooking. You will feel at home from the time you get here until the time you leave. There is nothing more peaceful that sitting on the deck, with a fire in the pit, while watching the many deer that feed in the evenings.

Our History

The Anderson family had leased Rain Creek Ranch for nearly 10 years prior to doing a 1031 Exchange with a Colorado County Ranch. Owned Since 2009. The ranch got its name from being the headwaters to Calf Creek which is only a creek when it rains.

Our Vision

Since obtaining ownership, the family has worked to decrease the Prickly Pear Cactus and reduce the mesquite presence around oak trees. This also allows them to manage food plots each in each major pasture. It is truly rare to be green the first of September

Main Objectives

Rain Creek Ranch has 3 main objectives with the ranch:

1. Share our family ranch with your family making sure the entire family feels invited and teaching children to hunt
2. Provide the best environment possible for the wildlife both low fence and exotic
3. Be the best caretakers of the land as possible

Arrive Friday After Lunch

Upon arrival, you will be checked into your accommodations and shown around camp to settle in and recover from your trip to the ranch with some refreshments. You will meet the staff and guides.

• The guides will accompany you to the gun range to ensure your weapon is dialed in and hitting where expected.
• Depending on time and the overall hunt agenda, an evening site will be planned, and the strategy for acquiring your trophy will be established with your 1-on-1 guide.
• After the evening hunt or recovery, you will enjoy dinner with other guests, meeting everyone and sharing a great meal. Discussions with your guide will include plans, hunting stories, and reviewing game camera inventory of available animals.
• After dinner, relax in the house, your room, or on the porch overlooking the feed station. This allows you to observe animals on the ranch as they come for their late dinner.

Saturday

• In the morning, you will awake at the predetermined time and meet your guide with a fresh cup of coffee and a quick snack.
• You will be guided to your stand on predetermined routes to minimize disturbance and increase the success of your hunt.
• After the morning hunt, return to camp for breakfast with other guests, sharing experiences and planning for the afternoon and evening.
• Spend the afternoon resting, scouting, or sightseeing around the ranch. A late lunch will be served.
• Guides will accompany you to your evening stand with ample time to settle in before wildlife arrives.
• After the evening hunt, return to camp to relax while dinner is prepared.
• Dinner will be served in the house or on the back porch. This is a time to build relationships, share stories, and plan for the next day.
• After dinner, unwind in the house, your room, or on the porch overlooking the feed station.

Sunday

• In the morning, awake at the predetermined time and meet your guide with coffee and a snack.
• Guides will take you to your stand for the morning hunt.
• After the hunt, return to camp for breakfast with other guests to share experiences and wrap up plans for departure.
• Assistance will be provided as needed for packing and preparing to leave the ranch with your trophy.

Other Details

• Upon hunting success, pictures will be taken at the recovery site for you to share with friends and family.
• Your animal will be field-dressed, placed in a cooler, and prepared for proper transport to your processor and taxidermist.
• If you are successful early, alternate plans may include hunting the pig population at no extra charge. Additional trophies can also be targeted with prior arrangements.
