Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Fishing & Personal Best

Start the morning with a full breakfast consisting of bacon, eggs and a variety of other breakfast items. Meet your guide who has retrieved your gear from your cabin and head out. Full guide experience—you don't have to touch a fish or bait a hook if you don't want to.

On the first day we caught 199 Black Bass and a couple of Tilapia. About 20% were a pound or less, about 40% were 1–2.5 pounds, and another 40% were 2.5 and up. I caught my personal best bass in the first 30 minutes of the day: 6.25 lbs.

Day 2 – Another Big Catch

We caught 181 with roughly the same size ratio as Day 1.

Day 3 – Solid Numbers

We put 135 in the boat, again with roughly the same size ratio.

Day 4 – Going Deep

We went for deeper water and bigger fish—most were 2 lbs plus with a few 3 lb and 4 lb fish mixed in. We caught 118 total.

Meals & Accommodations

The food was excellent: rib-eye the first night, enchiladas on night 2, seafood on day 3 (grilled shrimp, bacon-wrapped shrimp, shrimp cocktail and rock lobster), and prime rib on the last night. There was always a salad bar, and the portions were so generous that no normal human could finish it all. Dessert was different every night and too good to pass up—regardless of how full you were.

The staff was outstanding—glasses were never empty, tables were cleared quickly, and by the second night they already knew what you liked to drink and had it ready as you sat down.
